2026-10-02 · How we make money and About

Both pages said that using our referral code cuts the reader's own trading fees by “up to 20%”, with no source and no date of checking. The figure has been withdrawn. Binance's own introduction to its referral programme, read on 2 October 2026, sets out the commission paid to the person doing the referring, tiered by how much trading that person's invitees generate rather than by their own trading; for the person signing up it sets out no standing discount on their own fee rate, only a conditional rebate voucher. Passing part of a commission back is a setting inside the programme, not a guarantee. The two disclosure pages, the home page, the account-opening guide and the referral-code guide now say only that entering the code cannot increase what you pay, and point to the exchange's own sign-up screen for any discount figure. The worked example on the referral-code guide is labelled as a made-up model, which it always was. The Russian versions of the same pages carry the same withdrawal; that change is logged on the Russian corrections page.

Google Analytics was added to the site, but the privacy page still said there was no analytics, no cookies and a single third-party request, and the disclosure page said nothing was tracked. The privacy page now describes what Google Analytics records, the two cookies it sets and how to opt out; the disclosure page and two tool pages no longer claim that nothing is tracked or sent.

The draft gave a specific number of hours as a typical verification time. Removed before publication. Verification time depends on document type, country, queue depth, and whether a case falls to manual review; a single figure would have read as a promise and been wrong for most readers. The page now describes what makes it fast or slow, and says plainly that no honest range fits every case.

An early draft quoted exact percentage figures for card purchases and spot trading. Replaced with bands, each carrying the month we checked and a pointer to the exchange's own fee schedule. Published rates differ by country, payment method, and account tier, and they change; a hard number on a page like this becomes wrong quietly.

2026-08-25 · Where do my coins go after I buy?

The first version described the exchange balance as “your bitcoin, held for you”. That is the comfortable phrasing and it is misleading: an exchange balance is a claim against the exchange, not an asset you hold. Rewritten, and the distinction now leads the page instead of appearing near the end.

How to report something

Email the address on the contact page with the page and what looks wrong. Screens change and we do not see every country's version of an interface, so “this step does not match what I see” is genuinely useful — it is usually the first sign an exchange has redesigned something.
